About Us

At New England Sinai Hospital , we have been providing expert medical care for over 80 years. To those who face medically complex and pulmonary conditions or those in need of acute rehabilitation, our 212-bed hospital offers a complete array of services. Along our continuum of care, one factor remains constant. You will find the brightest and the best professionals working with our patients and their families to achieve positive outcomes.

With the quality of an in-town hospital, Sinai offers 24-hour on-site physician coverage, over 250 full-time and consulting physicians, and a full-service clinical laboratory; pharmacy and radiology services are available around the clock. Our multi-specialty medical staff includes physiatrists (rehabilitation physicians), endocrinologists, pulmonologists, neurologists, cardiologists, oncologists, rheumatologists, urologists as well as specialists in internal and geriatric medicine.

With the best human and technological resources, we give life back to those who face intense medical and rehabilitative challenges.

Sinai's history of expertise is founded on our commitment to staying current. By putting state-of-the-art technology in the hands of highly trained, board-certified physicians, nurses and therapists, we continue to set the pace on the leading edge of health care. Sinai is a rotation site for Tuft's pulmonary and critical care fellows and the home base of the residency program in physical medicine and rehabilitation. Tufts-affiliated pulmonary and critical care physicians and fellows keep Sinai at the forefront of pulmonary medicine. Because we are a teaching affiliate of Tufts University School of Medicine, we educate the healthcare leaders of today and tomorrow.

New England Sinai Hospital is a non-sectarian hospital with admission open to all regardless of race, color, sex, sexual orientation, national origin, age or disability.

In addition to our main campus located 25 minutes south of Boston, in Stoughton, Massachusetts, we have a satellite inpatient unit at Tufts-New England Medical Center and a satellite at Caritas Carney Hospital.

Schwartz Rounds at New England Sinai

New England Sinai Hospital hosts Schwartz Center Rounds, unique, multi-disciplinary sessions in which hospital staff explore the emotional side of caregiving. A national program with sites across the country, Schwartz Center Rounds are funded by the Kenneth B. Schwartz Center, a Boston-based nonprofit dedicated to advancing compassionate healthcare.

In a typical Rounds session, a panel of caregivers presents a patient case that brought up interesting and important psychosocial issues. Topics have included: delivering bad news; when religious or spiritual beliefs conflict with medical advice; taking care of a colleague; and losing a patient. Hospital staff then share their own thoughts and feelings related to the day’s topic. Unlike grand rounds, these sessions are not about clinical problem-solving, but rather about exploring and processing the emotions that come up in the daily work of hospital staff. A comprehensive study of Schwartz Center Rounds has shown them to help caregivers connect better with patients emotionally; enhance their understanding of the effects of illness on patients and their families; improve communication among caregivers and decrease feelings of caregiver isolation and stress. Schwartz Center Rounds are usually held on the third Thursday of the month. For more information about Schwartz Center Rounds, visit www.theschwartzcenter.org.
