Occupational Therapy
Occupational Therapy is an essential component of the rehabilitation team in Sinais scope of care. Occupational Therapy is provided to patients in the hospital as well as to outpatients. Licensed occupational therapists provide a systematic evaluation of the skills necessary to carry out every day activities; ability to attend to and carry out bathing, dressing, meal preparation, feeding, shopping, physical endurance, arm/hand mobility and strength, and leisure skills and interests. Safety concerns are always a focus throughout the evaluation and goal setting process. The patients beliefs and values are incorporated into goal setting. The whole person is considered: mind, body and spirit.
Sinai Outpatient PT and OT Departments earns 11th Consecutive FOTO™ Certificate of Excellence
New England Sinai Hospital was recognized for the 11th consecutive quarter for excellence in Outpatient Physical and Occupational Therapy by Focus on Therapeutic Outcomes, Inc. (FOTO). FOTO certificates of excellence are presented to only a select group of providers across the country to recognize the excellence achieved in effectiveness of treatment during the past twelve months. As a nationwide outcomes database and reporting service for healthcare providers, FOTO outcomes data are beneficial because they provide a benchmark measure for overall quality and value of the services offered by an organization.
