Physical Therapy
Types of Treatment
We utilize the most current techniques and computerized equipment to achieve maximum benefits.
Specialized physical therapy services include:
Manual Therapy
mobilization, strain-counterstrain, myofascial release, muscle energy
Therapeutic Exercise
Neurodevelopmental Treatment (NDT), Proprioceptive Neuromuscular Facilitation (PNF), closed chain exercise, postural/muscular re-education, plyometrics, spinal stabilization
Aquatic Therapy
treatment provided in the swimming pool at our rehabilitation site at the Striar Jewish Community Center in Stoughton. Water provides hydrostatic pressure to decrease inflammation, and buoyancy effects to promote strengthening and stretching in an unweighted environment
Manual Lymphatic Drainage
technique to promote lymphatic drainage in extremities where lymphatic flow is compromised, e.g., post-mastectomy; utilized in conjunction with bandaging, intermittent compression, exercise and education for a comprehensive approach
Universal
a multistation strengthening unit utilized for upper and lower extremity resistance training
Smart Balance Master
a computerized system that provides data related to the patient's balance systems (vestibular, visual and sensory), helping to develop individualized training programs.
Work Cube
a functional rehabilitation system designed to provide activity for work hardening and simulation of work and home activities
Sport, work, and activity specific training
Patient and family education and training
Coordinated Programs
The outpatient physical therapy department recognizes that comprehensive care and a team approach are essential for the best results. Our skilled clinicians work closely with each patient, the family, and referring physician to achieve optimal benefits from therapy.
