Your Treatment Program
Individualized wound treatment methods depend on the type and severity of the wound. The types of wounds that are treated in the Wound Center include:
- Diabetic Ulcers
- Open Surgical Wounds
- Leg and Foot Ulcers
- Traumatic Wounds
- Pressure Ulcers (bed sores)
- Other Chronic Wounds
Treatment at the Wound Center begins with an initial evaluation of the wound, a medical history and general health assessment to identify any underlying disease factors. Blood tests and other special tests that provide information regarding the flow of blood and oxygen to the wound may be recommended.
The plan of care may include:
- Conventional and Advanced Wound Dressings
- Education/Prevention
- Selective and Non-selective Wound Debridement
- Nutritional Counseling
- Antibiotic Therapy
- Advanced Modalities
