BOARD APPOINTMENTS APPROVED AT NEW ENGLAND SINAI
HOSPITAL ANNUAL MEETING AND DINNER

    

STOUGHTON, MA Appointments to the Board of Directors and Hospital Board of Trustees were approved by Hospital Board Members at New England Sinai Hospital’s annual Board Meeting and Dinner, held June 5, 2008 at the Hospital’s main campus in Stoughton.

Sinai Board of Directors

RICHARD BLANKSTEIN REAPPOINTED TO CHAIRMAN

Appointed in 2005 as Chairman of the Board of Directors, Richard Blankstein of Waban was reappointed to the chairman position. The following people were appointed as officers of New England Sinai Hospital:

Herbert Shivek, Vice Chairman, Chestnut Hill
George Small, Treasurer, Sharon
Joseph Ludwig, Assistant Treasurer, Sharon
Harris Stone, Past Chairman, Westwood
Norman Spector, Chairman Emeritus, Beverly

Blankstein has been a member of the Sinai Board of Directors since 1976 and has served as Vice Chairman and Chairman Elect. A principal in the law firm of Posternak, Blankstein & Lund, Boston, Blankstein is an active leader in non-profit community and volunteer organizations. He is a past president and member of the boards of Jewish Family & Children's Service of Boston and the Association of Jewish Family & Children’s Agencies, and a member of the Board of the National Human services Assembly, an organization based in Washington, DC, whose members include some of the country’s largest non-profit, health and human service providers.

Stephen De Cesare of Sharon was newly appointed to the Board of Directors for a one-year term.  He previously held a seat on the Hospital Board when serving as Chairman of the Sinai Foundation (June 2005 - June 2008).

Sinai Board of Trustees

Les Brown and Larry Lencz of Sharon and James Kenney of Stoughton were newly appointed to three-year terms as members of the Sinai Board of Trustees, a support and advisory group to the hospital. Many members of the Board of Trustees serve on hospital and board committees.
