PRESS RELEASE
NEW ENGLAND SINAI ADULT DAY HEALTH CARE PROGRAM PRESENTS "BALANCING PROGNOSIS WITH HOPE" DURING ALZHEIMER'S AWARENESS MONTH
STOUGHTON, MA — Each November, to recognize Alzheimer’s Awareness Month, Sinai’s Adult Day Health Care Program presents a lecture, free and open to the public, to increase awareness of this progressive disease. This year, Dr. Matthew Russell, Medical Director of VistaCare, will speak on “Balancing Prognosis and Hope,” on Tuesday, November 6th at 7pm in Sinai’s Brenner Conference Center at 150 York Street in Stoughton. This talk will be timely and important for those with friends and loved ones who are coping with the disease. Please register by calling (781) 297-1375. Refreshments will be served.
Dr. Russell will offer helpful ways to provide support for those in the later stages of Alzheimer’s disease, and although there is no cure, medications can ease symptoms and delay the progress of the disease. Dr. Russell will also discuss how care during all stages of Alzheimer’s disease can provide support for both patients and families, and help preserve the comfort, dignity and quality of life for loved ones. In addition to serving as Medical Director of VistaCare Hospice, Dr. Russell specializes in geriatric and internal medicine at Boston Medical Center and is a certified provider of hospice and palliative care.
Sinai’s Alzheimer’s Adult Day Health Center programs provide caregivers of those with Alzheimer's and other dementia problems with support, information and education. To learn more and to register, call the Alzheimer’s Adult Day Health Center programs at (781) 297-1375.
