DUXBURY RESIDENT NAMED EMPLOYEE OF THE MONTH
AT NEW ENGLAND SINAI HOSPITAL

 

STOUGHTON, MA — Lester P. Schindel, CEO and President of New England Sinai Hospital, has announced that Gail S. Murphy, LICSW, Social Work Supervisor, is the hospital’s March Employee of the Month. “It is a pleasure to recognize Gail for doing what she does best ― listening, supporting, and guiding ― she is a wonderful example of someone who goes above and beyond to provide warmth and caring, and in doing so, makes a lasting impression on the lives of our patients and their families,” said Schindel.” Murphy has been at Sinai since 1990 and is a resident of Duxbury, MA.

During her many years at Sinai, Murphy has gained a reputation for her ability to empathize with patients and their families and bring them comfort, calm and understanding during times of extreme stress. She has also won the praises of physicians, physician assistants, nurses and therapists at the hospital who say that she always goes the extra mile to “move mountains” and is an enthusiastic team player. Her efforts on behalf of patients include, organizing an early Christmas celebration for the friends and family of a terminal patient and making sure a long-time patient was able to earn his GRE. When asked why she has stayed at Sinai for so long, Murphy says, “My supervisor has been extremely supportive and given me many wonderful opportunities to grow, my colleagues have become friends and I enjoy building relationships with patients and their families. I know I can really make a difference in the work I do here.”

The Sinai Employee of the Month is chosen from nominations made by hospital staff, patients, and family members. Nominees demonstrate a “Sinai Cares” philosophy in their everyday work lives and are known for a high level of service, integrity and leadership. A committee of administrators and employees makes the final selection from those nominated.

For touching the lives of so many and for her longtime commitment and dedication to patients and their families Gail Murphy has been named the March Employee of the Month.
