NEW ENGLAND SINAI'S OUTPATIENT PHYSICAL AND OCCUPATIONAL THERAPY DEPARTMENT WINS EIGHT CONSECUTIVE FOTO AWARDS
STOUGHTON, MA — New England Sinai Hospital’s outpatient Physical and Occupational Therapy Departments have been awarded Outcomes Excellence Certificates from Focus On Therapeutic Outcomes, Inc. (FOTO™) for eight consecutive quarters from July 2005 to June 2007. FOTO™ is a nationwide outcomes database and reporting service for healthcare providers. FOTO outcomes data are beneficial because they provide a benchmark measure for overall quality and value of the services offered by an organization. The certifications are presented to a select group of providers across the country to recognize the excellence achieved in effectiveness of treatment during the past twenty-four months. Sinai’s Physical and Occupational Therapy providers have demonstrated a greater increase in function for their patients than the national aggregate average over eight consecutive quarters.
Sinai President and CEO Lester P. Schindel said, “It takes tremendous dedication and commitment on the part of our therapists to help patients achieve outcomes greater than those accomplished with many therapy programs. I am extremely proud of our staff and their dedication to quality care.”
“To receive FOTO’s certificates of excellence for eight consecutive quarters is unprecedented for us and we are thrilled,” said Davida Haas, PT, DPT, Sinai’s Director of Physical Therapy and Occupational Therapy Services. “We believe we have earned this recognition because of our practice of thoroughly analyzing the underlying root causes for pain and/or dysfunction, and because of the one-on-one treatments our licensed staff provides our patients. The strong patient-therapist bond is highly motivational and inspires our patients to work to their greatest capacities to achieve their therapy goals.”
FOTO has provided outcome data to healthcare providers since 1994. More than 1,000 organizations have contributed to the FOTO database. According to Al Amata, FOTO’s President, “Sinai has proven the quality of their care by exceeding the average performance data of all the progressive organizations across the country who are part of the FOTO network.”
