SINAI'S ALZHEIMER'S CAREGIVERS SUPPORT GROUP SERIES PRESENTS
"HOW DO I KNOW IT'S ALZHEIMER'S?"
STOUGHTON, MA — Did you know that those afflicted with Alzheimer’s disease and other forms of dementia do not present with the same symptoms or decline in the same way or at the same rate or even respond to the same treatments? You can learn more on Thursday, May 8, 2008 when Dr. Richard Fischer, New England Sinai Hospital’s Director of Neuropsychology and the Coordinator of the Geriatric Assessment Program, will present a talk on, “How Do I Know If It’s Alzheimer’s?” Dr. Fischer will explain how defining the cause of dementia can make a difference for those with these conditions and for their caregivers.
Sponsored by the Alzheimer’s Caregiver Support Group Series, the talk is free and opens to the public and will be held from 4:00 to 5:00 pm at New England Sinai Hospital’s Alzheimer’s Center, directly across the street from the hospital at 143 York Street in Stoughton. At Sinai since 1994, Dr. Fischer is also Assistant Clinical Professor of Neuropsychology in the Department of Physical Medicine and Rehabilitation at Tufts University School of Medicine. Dr. Fischer is a resident of West Roxbury.
The New England Sinai Alzheimer’s Adult Day Health Center provides caregivers of those with Alzheimer's and other dementia problems support, information and education. The Caregiver Support Group meets on the second Thursday of the month from September through June from 4:00-5:30 pm at the Alzheimer’s Adult Day Center.
