ALZHEIMER'S CAREGIVER SUPPORT GROUP SERIES PRESENTS
"MATTERS OF THE MIND AND HEART"

 

STOUGHTON, MA Beverly Moore, RN, CS has just written a book entitled, “Matters of the Mind...and the Heart: 5 Steps to Meet the 10 Challenges of Alzheimer Care,” and she will be speaking to the New England Sinai Hospital Alzheimer’s Caregiver Support Group on Valentine’s Day, February 14, 2008, at 4pm about how important it is for caregivers to have the “heart” to learn to relate differently to their loved ones with Alzheimer’s. She has coached more than 1,000 families in the care of someone with Alzheimer’s or dementia and will share her experiences and insights. The talk is free and open to the public and will be held at Sinai’s Alzheimer’s Adult Day Health Center, located directly across the street from the hospital at 143 York Street in Stoughton, MA. Attendees are welcome to stay from 5:00 to 5:30 pm to enjoy refreshments, socialize and take a break from caregiving. Registration is requested. Please call 781- 297-1375.

Moore is a seasoned psychiatric nurse and family therapist with years of experience in dementia care. She is head of Alzheimer Coaching Services (ACS) in Quincy. Improving family relationships through the dementia journey is at the heart of ACS’ mission. Staff provide in-home coaching and many other services to support both those suffering from Alzheimer’s and dementia and those caring for them.

The New England Sinai Alzheimer’s Adult Day Health Center provides caregivers of those with Alzheimer's and other dementia problems support, information and education. The Caregiver Support Group meets on the second Thursday of the month from September through June from 4:00-5:30 pm at the Alzheimer’s Adult Day Center.
