NEW ENGLAND SINAI PRESIDENT AND CEO NAMED CHAIRMAN OF
MASSACHUSETTS HOSPITAL ASSOCIATION'S SPECIALTY CEO FORUM

 

STOUGHTON, MA Lester P. Schindel, President and CEO of New England Sinai   Hospital, was recently named Chairman of the Massachusetts Hospital Association’s (MHA) Specialty Hospital CEO Forum. MHA President and CEO Lynn Nicholas noted, “This group had never directly reported to the MHA Board before, and in naming Lester Schindel as Chair we’re recognizing the importance of our specialty hospitals to the continuum of patient care.” Schindel serves on the Board of the MHA and has also served on the MHA Finance Committee. He has a wealth of knowledge with over 27 years of senior-level hospital administrative experience. As President and CEO of New England Sinai Hospital, a long-term, acute care hospital, Schindel is employing a visionary strategic plan to place Sinai on “a path to excellence” as a premier pulmonary center of medicine.

Prior to joining New England Sinai Hospital, Schindel was CEO and President at Merrimack Valley Hospital (formerly Hale Hospital) in Haverhill and is credited with its successful turn-around. He served as the Chief Operating Officer at MetroWest Medical Center where he was responsible for the daily operations at both Framingham Union Hospital and Leonard Morse Hospital in Natick. Schindel is a Diplomat in the American College of Healthcare Executives, a member of the Massachusetts Hospital Association Board of Directors and serves on the Boards of the Metro South Chamber of Commerce and the Neponset Valley Chamber of Commerce. He has a master’s degree in healthcare administration from George Washington University and a bachelor’s degree from Rutgers University.  Schindel is a resident of Framingham, MA.
