PRESS RELEASE

SUPPORTERS HELP NEW ENGLAND SINAI HOSPITAL FOUNDATION RAISE AN IMPRESSIVE $250,000 AT "STEPPING OUT"

STOUGHTON, MA Over 400 friends and supporters helped the New England Sinai Hospital Foundation raise an impressive $250,000 at the hospital’s “Stepping Out” Gala, exceeding the expected fundraising goal. Friends and supporters made contributions through sponsorships, program book ads, ticket purchases, and auction buys. Held at Boston’s Fairmont Copley Plaza Hotel on May 12th, the premier event was hosted by Sinai President and CEO, Lester P. Schindel and paid special tribute to event honoree George Small of Sharon and VP of Franklin Sports in Stoughton for his commitment and decades of service to Sinai. Stanley Hatoff, Vice Chairman of Sinai’s Board of Directors, major donor for the event, and colleague of Small’s for the
past 25 years, introduced him and spoke in his honor.

A longtime member of Sinai’s Board of Directors, Small serves as Treasurer and Chairman of the Board’s Finance Committee. Susan Blushi, CRT, was also honored as the recipient of the hospital’s 2007 Compassionate Caregiver Award.

The evening kicked off with a cocktail reception and auction that included entertainment by Bonaparte, The Magician, and photo opportunities with the Boston Red Sox Mascot. Guests viewed a compelling and moving video on compassionate care at Sinai
and enjoyed a formal dinner with entertainment by The Liverpool Legends, The Ultimate Beatles Experience.

The $250,000 raised will support the George Small Innovations of Care Fund to renovate and modernize Sinai’s main
campus in Stoughton to ensure that it fully matches the high level of care offered by Sinai staff.

Founded in October 2001, the New England Sinai Hospital Foundation was established to serve as the philanthropic arm of New England Sinai Hospital and Rehabilitation Center. The Foundation is committed to raising funds to support New England Sinai Hospital in meeting the health-care needs of its communities, through the development of financial support from individuals, businesses, organizations and foundations.
