TWO WEEKS CAN CHANGE YOUR LIFE
ENROLL NOW IN SINAI'S KEY TO DIABETES MANAGEMENT PROGRAM

STOUGHTON, MA New Year’s resolutions are one thing, but changing your life for the better is another ― and you can ― in only two weeks when you join the Key to Diabetes Management Program at New England Sinai Hospital. This program has helped to change the lives of so many people with type 1 and type 2 diabetes, and by making a two-week commitment to improve your health, it can help change your life, too. Learn what’s new and improved in diabetes care and treatment from certified diabetes educators, nurses and dieticians on staff at Sinai’s Diabetes Center, recognized by the American Diabetes Association since 1993. The Key to Diabetes Management Program offers two 2-hour sessions twice a week, beginning January 28, 2008 at Sinai in Stoughton at 150 York Street. Choose from day or evening classes. The cost of the series is covered by many insurances. Please call The Diabetes Center at (781) 297-1389 for more information.

Day classes are held Mondays and Wednesdays from 1-3pm
January 28 and 30 and February 4 and 6

Evening classes
are held Mondays and Thursdays from 6-8pm
February 4 and 7 and February 11 and 14

In just two weeks, you will learn how to significantly reduce the risk of life-threatening complications that often accompany diabetes, and how to take control of your diabetes with vital information and strategies to keep your blood sugars normal. Two major curriculum areas are covered during each 2-hour session. Topics include: diabetes overview; meal planning and the glycemic effects of foods on blood sugar; monitoring; the latest advances in medication; hypoglycemia; carbohydrate counting; complications; food choices and exercise; special considerations; and eating out. Diabetes is a highly treatable condition. Take two weeks to feel better and live a healthier, happier life!

Patients who have taken this program have said:  “The Key to Diabetes Management Program was very well run; these classes were probably a lifesaver for me!” and “I learned much more than I ever thought I would. I am very glad I did this and would highly recommend it.”
