Pulmonary Outpatient Program

Program Candidates

Individuals with chronic respiratory system impairments are appropriate for the Program. They often experience a progressive, increased difficulty breathing and have limited respiratory reserve capacity. These conditions result in debilitating functional disabilities that limit exercise and activities of daily living.

Outcomes expected at the completion of the program are:

  • Enhanced quality of life
  • Reduced number of hospitalizations
  • Decreased respiratory symptoms and complications
  • Improved physical conditioning
  • Better self-management of a patient's disease and increased control of daily functioning
  • Improved emotional well-being
