STEPPING OUT WITH SINAI 2008 HONOREE
STEPHEN J. DE CESARE

Stephen J. De Cesare has been a member of the New England Sinai Foundation Board of Directors since the Foundation's inception on October 1, 2001. In 2004, he succeeded Barry Koslow as the Foundation Board Chairman. In this capacity he also serves as a member of the New England Sinai Hospital Board of Directors.

A graduate of the United States Coast Guard Academy, Mr. De Cesare hold an MBA from the University of Mass/Dartmouth and a Masters of Science in finance from Bentley College. Currently the Senior Vice President, Business Banking Department, of Eastern Bank, he has been in banking since 1973 and has served as the President of Pacific National Bank, Nantucket, MA and the Sharon Cooperative Bank, Sharon, MA. (Eastern Bank merged with Sharon Cooperative Bank in 2007).

During his seven years on Nantucket from 1994-2000, Mr. De Cesare was involved in multiple service organizations including Rotary and the Odd Fellows, and he became active in the Masonic Lodge, as well as organizing many programs in the school system. He helped with fundraising at the Nantucket Cottage Hospital and supported programs throughout the island.

After moving to Sharon he continued his involvement with Rotary and also became involved with the Lions Club, the local Boy Scout council, Neponset Valley Chamber of Commerce, sponsored programs for the Sharon Historical and the Sharon Public Library as well as helping to initiate the Sharon Teen Center and the Sharon Business Association. He was also picked to represent banking in the commonwealth as one of 20 bank presidents to serve on the board of the Massachusetts Bankers Association.
